The Venezia tapware collection designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez and manufactured by Fantini is an
icon of luxury and allusive elegance. The handles
are crafted from Murano handblown glass with
the cores of coloured glass enclosed in a
transparent bevelled glass casing, like fossils from
the new millennium drowned in glass to protect
them against the ravages of time. The end result
is an object with vibrant edges and an outline
which is both clear-cut and, at the same time,
mobile. An object which, formally speaking
through its hexagonal sections, pays tribute to
liquid mechanics and, ironically, its handles seem
to evoke upturned glasses, illusions to an
everyday use of water.
